$2,100.00
SKU 2789709
MPN 2789709

Don't guess the load, know the load using the Self Indicating Dynamometer!

Designed to replace outdated mechanical products still in the field, this 14,300lb (6.5t) Dynamometer, the ‘SID’ is an accurate and easy way to measure load or weight.

Self indicating for close-up work operating a lever or electrical chain hoists.

  • Aircraft (engine) installation & maintenance
  • Rigged with gantry crane
  • Steel beam fabrication
  • Water utilities
  • General weighing
  • Transportation tie downs
  • Automotive repair shops
  • Towing
  • Lineman tensioning

It features full-function push button controls for:

  • Tare and preset tare
  • Selectable measurement units (lbs, kg, kN and tonnes)
  • 100Hz high-speed peak hold
  • Audible set-point alarm
  • Overload counter

Providing accurate load measurement and incident and injury prevention this dynamometer is rigged using industry- standard shackles such as Crosby G2130, the compact design minimises headroom loss (6.14” or 156mm from eye to eye).

Constructed with high-grade aircraft quality aluminium and with a safety factor of 6:1, its lightweight design does not sacrifice on strength in fact Crosby SP’s link style dynamometers are on average 30% lighter than their closest competitor.

There is also a Bluetooth version of this dynamometer, the Bluelink.

Downloads FAQs

1. What can you use a SID load cell for? The product is designed to replace old fashioned mechanical dynamometers still in the field used to measure weight or force when lifting, pulling or load testing. The clear LCD display is easy to see when operating a lever or chain hoist for example.

2. Why should you use a load cell? The SID provides safe and accurate measurement of force or weight to 0.2%. Don't guess the load, thats dangerous, know the load!

3. Can I use the load cell in extreme environments? Yes. It is waterproof to NEMA4 or IP65.

4. How is SID powered? One, easily-sourced, PP3 9v alkaline battery.

5. Does the load cell arrive already calibrated? Yes. The SID is supplied with a 12-month certificate of calibration and proof test— and includes a two-year warranty.

6. Is it supplied with shackles? No, but we recommend the SID is rigged with Crosby G2130-6.5t shackles.

7. What is the SID made from? It is constructed from high-quality aerospace grade aluminum 2014-T6, and the product features an advanced internal design structure. This design provides the product with an unrivalled strength to weight ratio and ability to withstand torque. The use of a separate internal sealed enclosure administers the load cell's electronic components with NEMA4 or IP65 environmental protection.

8. What is the product’s update rate? The product is able to provide an update rate of 3Hz or 100Hz in peak hold mode.

9. Does the product comply with ASME standards? Yes, it complies with ASME B30.26.

10. Do you have any other Bluetooth load cells? Yes, we have the Bluelink, Radiolink dynamometer available in capacities up to 500t and the COLT which is a load cell that is used to measure the tension on a wire rope. Lastly, CableSafe is a running line dynamometer that measures the tension of a moving electrical or telecommunications cable or a synthetic rope.
